SOVL Report: This 1 Little Trick to make More tracks per Month
theres one thing that I've started doing recently that completely changed how productive I was on the device
What's up Forum,
IDK how long you've had your Force, I personally I've had mine almost 4 years..
outside of my heavy hand breaking the big knob by slapping it too much
(wow... that line is straight up cringe worthy 😬)
...I haven't had many issues with it,
in fact, I haven't finished a project in Ableton in over four years..
I've done EVERYTHING on the Force..
well almost everything,
theres one thing that I've started doing recently that completely changed how productive I was on the device
"SAVING TRACKS"
yeah yeah i know... its not that revolutionary...
but saving instrument/drum tracks to an organized folder via the 'Save' menu
mannn...
to say this has drastically increased the number of tracks that I'm able to crank out per day is an understatement.
Saving the entire track gives you all of your sounds that 'sound good' in one spot..
The way I like to approach it saving everything in one folder, then using the sounds browser to locate them once i have a project loaded.
The sounds browser will automatically filter based on the track type that you're on.
If you need something a little more direct (or want to create your own previews for your sounds ) i recommend saving different types of sounds into different folders..
you can use the shortcut menu in the file browser for easy access.
either way that you approach it, saving sounds/presets or configurations that already sound good will save you so much time when starting a project.
The same goes for chord progressions too!
realistically in a matter of seconds you can have a great sounding progression as soon as you load a blank project.
Simply load up your favorite sounding instrument,
then load up your favorite progression.
and boom..
so think about how you want to approach saving your sounds..
Especially if you're creating music for games/TV/Sync licensing etc..
this makes creating multiple variations of your projects very simple and you can start making 5+ tracks per day.
